Andrew Thomas Graybar's Obituary
Andrew T. Graybar passed away after a long illness, on July 5, 2024, in Tallahassee. Andrew, known as “Andy” to his dear friends, was born in 1944 to Frank and Margaret Ryder Graybar. Raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey, he graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Class of 1962. He earned a BS in Economics from Villanova University in 1967, and in 1970, an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Andy worked in commercial real estate lending and then enjoyed an extensive career as a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter, and General Securities Broker. He took great pride in helping people save, invest, and plan for retirement.
Andrew enjoyed watching Villanova basketball and Michigan basketball and football. An avid golfer for many years, Andy also liked music, singing, and visiting the beaches of 30A along Florida’s Gulf Coast. He looked forward to playing cards with his friends who gathered every week for the game. He loved dogs but the collies he owned over the years were the most special to him.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Janet Morton Graybar, whom he married in 2019. He is also survived by his son, daughter, stepdaughter, a step-granddaughter, and their spouses, as well as four grandsons, and two step-great granddaughters. He was proud of them all.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Andrew’s memory to Boys Town at boystown.org or to Big Bend Hospice Foundation at bigbendhospice.charityproud.org\donate.
