Thomas Ed Peacock

October 29, 1931 - April 18, 2014

Thomas Ed Peacock, 82, of Quincy, Florida passed away on April 18, 2014 at Big Bend Hospice. He was born on October 29, 1931 in Alliance, Florida to Pierson and Rebecca Peacock. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was wounded during the Korean War. He worked for 60 years as a Licensed Funeral Director. He was a long-time member of Santa Clara Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and in many other capacities over the years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine Temple. He lived in Quincy for over 52 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise; four daughters: Lynn McCanin (Evans) of Palatka, Florida, Carolyn Poythress of Quincy, Florida, Tammy Peacock of Tallahassee, Florida, Terri Joyce (Steve) of Jacksonville, Florida; by one grandson, Kyle Poythress (Heather); one great grandson, Lane, of Sneads, Florida; and one brother, Carl Eugene Peacock (Barbara) of Marianna, Florida. Visitation will be at Americare Funeral Home – 20 South Duval Street, Quincy, FL from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, April 21st. Funeral Services will be held at Santa Clara Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
