Shirley Phyllis Garber

Shirley Phyllis Garber, was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 7, 1935. She and late husband Robert D. Garber, Sr. had five children: Sandra, Robert, Jr., Christy, Ronald, and Daniel. Shirley moved to Tallahassee in the early 1990’s, where she continued her Real Estate career. She loved giving back to her community, as she often volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Shirley was a long-time member of East Hill Baptist Church. She was also known for her delicious dishes and tasty baked goods, which were always lovingly shared with her family, her co-workers, her friends, her church. Shirley treasured her family and leaves behind her three living children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Shirley loved her 30+ years as a Realtor. Many past clients maintained contact with Shirley throughout her illness. She loved doing for and caring for others. When Shirley could no longer work as a Realtor, due to her Alzheimer’s onset, she worked as a caregiver for several years. Shirley loved life, her family, friends, pets, and her Lord. She was a treasure to those who knew her. The family is planning a private memorial celebration in Muskegon, Michigan.
