Rosalind Allison Burns

Rosalind Allison Burns of Tallahassee, previously of Atlanta, died on October 27, 2017. Rosalind was born in Atlanta on August 29, 1927. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. In Atlanta, Rosalind was a faithful member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed volunteering in the church library. She was an avid gardener throughout her life. She is survived by her sons, David Burns (Elaine) of Boone, NC and John Arnold Burns of Aiea, Hawaii, and her daughter, Allison Burns Hankinson (Jimmy) of Tallahassee. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hight Burns, her parents, Reverend John Herman Allison and Elfie Haynes Allison, and her brother, Herman Allison. A private memorial will be held at a later date at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Westminster Oaks for their kindness and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made in Rosalind’s name to Wesleyan College or to the Westminster Oaks Employees Fund. Lifesong is assisting the family with arrangements.
