Phillip R. "Butch" Masters

Phillip R. “Butch” Masters, 73, passed away at his home on May 5, 2015. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Bonnie Masters. A native of Spokane, WA, he grew up in Washington and spent most of his adult life in California. He moved from Atlanta to Midway seven years ago. Butch was U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Army Aviation Historical Foundation, a licensed pilot and ordained deacon at Lake Talquin Baptist Church. Other survivors include three daughters, Teresa A. Flowers (Jim) of West Columbia, SC; Tricia A. Cain (Jason) of Canton, GA; and Tiffany A. Pellizzari (Pete) of Union City, CA; three brothers, Paul V. Masters (Mary) of Felton, NV; Russell Masters; and Harland G. Masters (Leatha) of Clackamus, Oregon; one sister, Dee G. Hunt of Fernley, NV; five grandsons; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Bea Masters; and first wife, Margie Masters. A memorial service is planned for 4:00pm, Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Lake Talquin Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior. The committal will take place on Monday, May 11th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
