Michael Paul Flournoy, 59 from Quincy, Fl. died after a lengthy illness on January 30 at the home of his sister and brother in law, Brenda and Randal Potter . He was born August 12, 1956 in Cairo, Ga. to his parents, Paul and Louise Flournoy. Michael developed a love for animals and reptiles at a very young age and that love was shared throughout his life with his children, nieces, nephews and friends. He was an avid deer, hog and bear hunter and fisherman. He later became a curator of reptiles at Silver Springs Reptile Institute. Survivors include his wife Kelli Flournoy of Bristol, two sons, Daniel (Flournoy) Flynn of Maine, Thomas Flournoy of Bristol, a daughter Mikayla Flournoy of Bristol, three sisters, Paula Davis of Quincy, Debra Sansom of Telogia , Brenda Potter and beloved brother in law, Randal Potter of Sycamore, Grandson, Cooper Flynn of Maine and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Louise Flournoy, a sister Annette Powell Ferrell, a niece Dawn Shepard Jensen and a nephew Eric Shepard. Visitation services will be held on Sunday February 7, 2-4 pm EST at Lifesong Funeral Home, 20 S. Duval Street, Quincy, FL. The family would like to ask that visitors dress casually preferably in camouflage, jeans or khaki.
