Marlene Fay Meakin Cessna, 80, of Greensboro, FL, passed away on December 6, 2016 in Calhoun County, FL. She was born on February 13, 1936 in Liverpool, England, to John Grainger Meakin and Daisy Cambes. She lived in Greensboro for the past 45 years of her wonderful life. Marlene was a retired art teacher who saw beauty in everything and everyone; she never met a stranger. She loved teaching, especially the “Bob Ross” oil painting technique and loved her students. She always believed in giving of her talents, so others could give of themselves. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Oliver Howard “Sarge” Cessna, one sister, Katherine Perdue, and one brother, John Meakin. Survivors include two sisters, Leslie Sailes and Margaret Kewley; one brother, Leonard Meakin, of Great Britain; daughters, Marlene Plympton (Larry) of Live Oak, FL; Paula Brubaker (Terry) of Mechanicsburg, PA; sons, Matthew Cessna (Melissa) of Quincy; Paul Cessna (Melissa) of Altha, FL; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. A memorial service is planned to honor her life on December 17, 2016 at 1:00pm EST at Greensboro United Methodist Church in Greensboro, FL.
