George Richard Robbins
December 15, 1946 - June 27, 2021
George Richard Robbins (aka Crazy George/Big Richard), son of George Wilson and Audrey (Blount) Robbins, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 15, 1946. As part of a Navy family, he lived in Florida, California, Massachusetts, and Japan. After graduating from Ocala High School, he enlisted in the Army and was a Vietnam Combat Veteran, 173rd Airborne Brigade. George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ronnie Errickson, their children: George Rusty (Susan), Audrey (John Elzie), Allison (Adam) Bunker, and grandchildren: George Robert, Sophia, Owen, Malorie, Everett, Madison. He was extraordinarily dedicated to, and proud of, his children and grandchildren. A lifelong Democrat, George was also a member of local 592 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for over 3 decades. His hobbies included generating conspiracy theories and dispensing his unique arm-chair philosophy. George was a devout DIYer. A big man with a big personality and a bigger heart, his passing leaves a huge hole. Mishaps at local home improvement stores, random acts of kindness and Yoo-Hoo purchases will decline significantly. We will remember his dislike of show-offs, lying, inefficiency, and stupidity while carrying on his love of cheap wine, Alligator Point, golf, digging, and time spent with family.
