Chester Hudson Jr.

June 14, 1953 - April 4, 2022

Chester "Chet" Hudson, Jr, 68, of Tallahassee, Fl, passed away on April 4, 2022 with his wife and family at his bedside. He was born in Thomasville, GA on June 14, 1953 to Peggie and Chester Hudson. Growing up, he spent many summers and weekends with his favorite aunt Louise (Stalvey) and grandparents Zenobia and Robert Beasley and Effie and William Hudson. Chet graduated from Central High School in 1972. He received his AA degree from Birdwood Junior College in 1974 and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Valdosta State College in 1977. He was married to Louise Benton on February 21, 1975 and they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Chester spent many hours serving organizations which shared his passions. He held memberships with John Wesley United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts of America (Cubmaster, Woodbadge), Capital Soccer Association (Founding Member), Tallahassee United Futbol Club (Founding Member), Florida Youth Soccer Association (District Commissioner), and the Thomasville Masonic Lodge (Scottish Rite & York Rite). He also volunteered many hours for North Florida Soccer Referees Association, and Lincoln High School Soccer. Chet was employed with the State of Florida, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for over 30 years as a computer technician. He is survived by his wife, Louise; son Robert William Hudson and his wife Ashley; grandchildren Christopher, Noah and Henry Hudson; sister Darlene Hudson Hitt; and nephews Michael Stevenson, and Jimmy Hitt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth (1985.) A Memorial Service will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday April 9, 2022 at 4pm.
