Charles L. Allen, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Tallahassee. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat Allen, also of Tallahassee. A native of Columbus, Georgia, he moved to Tallahassee from Atlanta in 1970. He was for many years active in automobile sales and service, with several dealers throughout the area. Charles was a member of Jackson Lodge #1, F&AM, a veteran of the United States Army, and was of the Catholic faith. Other survivors include two daughters, Kelle Burke of Tallahassee and Shannon A. D’Orazio (Terry) of Orange Beach, AL; two sons, Charles L. Allen, Jr. of Oregon and Michael C. Allen of Mobile, AL; and a grandchild, Ellie D’Orazio of Orange Beach. Also surviving are two sisters, Sherrie Duke (Ken) of Baton Rouge, LA and Barbara Allen of New Orleans, LA; and three brothers, Henry Grady Allen (Mary) and Sam Allen, both of Tallahassee and Earl Allen of Pearl River, LA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, EDT, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Generations Church (formerly Oak City Assembly of God), with the Rev. Lamar Creel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, from 12:30 PM until service time Monday. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, with Jackson Lodge #1, F&AM conducting.
